My philosophy of education is that all children are entitled to learn. The educational environment must be stimulating and free of judgment. I believe that everyone has the right to learn and that everyone can be taught. As an educator it is my job to figure out how students learn best. Part of my job is to create an environment where students can learn and be challenged.
I believe that there are five essential elements that are conducive to learning. (1) The teacher's role is to act as a guide. (2) Students must have the space to ask questions. (3) Students should be able to have group activities to interact with others in group settings. (4) Students need the opportunity to practice skills in a safe environment. (5) using technology should be encouraged but not in place of actual work in the subject taught.
I believe that the curriculum being taught should incorporate different learning styles. The content should be relatable to current practices and techniques. I will incorporate hands-on learning, group learning, projects, and individual work that will reflect the current topic.
I believe that a teacher is morally obligated to enter the classroom with only the highest of expectations for each and every one of my students. I expect my students to know to ask question and be inquisitive in the classroom.
I aim to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each day. I believe that I owe it to my students, as well as the community, to bring consistency, diligence, and warmth to my job in the hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage such traits in the children as well.
