About Arpitha

My mother is an online tutor so am I. I used to enjoy math right from my school days unlike my other classmates. The difference was my mother who used to teach me with everyday examples. I used to see mathematics as a puzzle and a game that I want to solve rather than a subject I want to score in. That's about my love for mathematics and logic but my love for teaching started about the same time. I used to help my classmates understand some concepts which otherwise felt impossible to understand with all the complicated formulas. That interest grew and right after my high school I started teaching math online. I stumbled in the beginning, but I got the hang of it quickly. Along with this I studied for my Bachelor's and master's in computer science and then worked for a year in an IT firm. For me teaching was little about the money and all about knowledge.

About the lesson

Class structure: This is a general structure to the class and might vary from student to student.
Every class will be based on a specific topic or an assignment provided from school.
First 10-15 mins - understand the topic thoroughly with the help of real life examples and fun games
Next 20-30 mins - solve together some practice problems which will help the students to understand the flow or approach towards a problem.
Remaining time 15 mins - student will solve the problems on their own with a little help from me.

As a teacher my first priority is to help the students enjoy the process of learning and stop them from fearing certain subjects. Then comes understanding the core concept by understanding real world problems rather than just going with textbook formulae. Then comes sharpening the minds of the students by increasing their speed in solving the problems.

I will be focused on school and college level math but rest of the subjects for all age groups. These classes are for anyone who is looking forward to learn and enjoy studying.
