About Joseph

I believe that academic, professional, and personal success aren't mutually exclusive, but achieving this comes from finding interest in the world around you. I enjoy tutoring as I have a passion for the Engineered world, but also how we as people can become better learners and make better use of the world around us. I am sporty, outgoing, and believe that I make learning engaging. As to sports; I am an Arsenal supporter, love playing racket sports, and am running my 2nd marathon in December 2025.

About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring I take a structured yet flexible approach to tutoring, focusing on building a deep understanding of concepts rather than just memorising methods. My goal is to help students become confident, independent thinkers who can approach any question logically and methodically. Teaching Methodology: I start by identifying each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and preferred learning style. Lessons are then tailored to fill knowledge gaps while reinforcing key principles through clear explanations, worked examples, and guided problem-solving. I use real-world applications — especially from engineering and physics — to show why topics matter and how they connect to one another. For exam preparation, I focus on exam technique, time management, and understanding what examiners are looking for. Lesson Structure and Length: A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though I also offer 90-minute sessions for students preparing for exams or tackling more advanced material. Each session begins with a quick review of previous content, followed by focused teaching and practice, and ends with a short recap or quiz to check understanding and set targets for next time. Qualifications and Experience: I hold a degree in Engineering, with a strong academic background in mathematics and physics. I’ve been tutoring for several years, supporting both GCSE and A-level students, and have helped many achieve or exceed their target grades through patient explanation and structured practice. Who My Lessons Are For: My lessons are ideal for GCSE and A-level students studying Maths, Physics, or Engineering-related subjects. I also work with motivated younger learners who want to get ahead, as well as first-year university students needing a stronger foundation in these core areas. Additional Services: Outside of teaching the subjects above, I am able to apply my industry experience from both Aerospace and Engineering Operations to support Students & University leavers with UCAS and job applications.
