About Kate
I’ve spent my career working closely with children in the elementary years, supporting a wide range of learning needs and learning styles. I truly believe that every child is capable of success when they are given patience, encouragement, and instruction that meets them where they are.
Teaching is more than a job for me—it’s what I love to do. I take pride in creating lessons that are engaging, supportive, and confidence-building, especially for students who may feel stuck, frustrated, or unsure of themselves. Watching a child’s face light up when something finally “clicks” is the most rewarding part of my work. Every child can succeed with the right support. My goal is to help students feel proud of their progress, confident in their abilities, and excited to learn. I would love to be part of your child’s learning journey!

Learning should feel exciting, safe, and empowering—especially for young learners. As a K–3 collaborative teacher, I specialize in building strong academic foundations while helping students gain confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning. My lessons are engaging, supportive, and always tailored to each child’s unique needs. I believe children learn best when they feel understood, encouraged, and actively involved.
Student-centered learning: Every lesson is shaped around the child’s strengths, interests, and goals.
Hands-on & interactive: I use games, visuals, stories, movement, and real-life examples to make learning stick.
Growth-mindset focused: Mistakes are celebrated as part of learning, helping students build resilience and confidence.
Clear & structured: Lessons are predictable yet flexible, so students feel secure while still being challenged.
I draw from proven elementary education strategies, including:
Phonics-based reading instruction and comprehension strategies
Conceptual math teaching (number sense, visual models, problem-solving)
Scaffolded learning—breaking skills into manageable steps
Positive reinforcement and gentle redirection
Ongoing assessment to adjust pacing and instruction
I meet students where they are and help them move forward—one success at a time.
