About Amy
Hi! I’m Amy, a Psychology graduate with First Class Honors and a current Master of Teaching (Primary) student.
I’m passionate about helping students develop confidence in mathematics by making concepts clear, manageable and meaningful. I understand that students can approach math with very different levels of confidence, so I take the time to identify what a student understands already and build from there.
My teaching experience has developed my ability to explain concepts in different ways and adapt lessons to individual learning needs. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, working through mistakes and developing their independence.

I use step-by-step explanations, worked examples, visual representations and guided practice to help students understand the reasoning behind mathematical processes. Rather than focusing only on getting the correct answer, I encourage students to explain how and why they reached it.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, with the structure adapted to the student's age, ability and goals. Sessions can focus on strengthening foundational skills, consolidating current classroom learning, extending understanding or preparing for assessments.
