About Heather
I have been a classroom teacher for four years, including during the COVID lockdown. Because of this, I have experience with both in-person and online teaching.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in secondary education with a specialization in history and am also pursuing my Master's in History.
I have been a lifelong learner and am ready, willing, and eager to share what I've learned.

I prefer to work with high school- and college-age students, although I am always willing to assist anyone trying to better understand their country or heritage. While I enjoy any kind of history, I have spent most of my personal study on US History and Government.
I do a lot of Socratic debates - discussion and questions - to help lead students to develop their own understanding. I also do my best to include as many visuals (videos, slides, pictures, etc.) as possible.
I have worked with IEP students for four years, helping to develop lesson plans that will meet the needs of students with ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, and other learning challenges.
