My teaching style focuses on simple exposure and gradual building of concepts of any topic. I aim to provide an in depth knowledge of the topic and understanding to the last detail. I stress on visualization and illustration of abstract looking concepts, thereby leading to a clear picture of and a firm and long lasting grasp on the topic.
My next focus is the application of concepts. The clarity of concepts and in depth understanding of the details comes in handy here. The ability to apply the learnt concepts is developed, honed and perfected using good number of problems from relevant textbooks and some questions and problems developed and posed in order to elucidate and promote critical thing and deductive reasoning.
I stress on trying to not memorize the formulas, derivations and solving techniques rather to develop tools to work on them from scratch if need be. The focus is on developing key concepts and inspiring reasoning ability.
My teaching style also encompasses a narrative that builds on the real world application of the things studied in the class. In my opinion, this leads to a strong realization of relevance of things that are studied. This also makes the learning experience more fulfilling and the outcome easy to retain.
