About Quimbay
I am an engineering student with a great passion for teaching. As a native Spanish speaker, I find it natural and easy to explain the language in a clear and practical way. Additionally, I have previous teaching experience, which has allowed me to develop dynamic and effective methods to help my students learn with confidence. My goal is to create a comfortable and motivating environment where each student can improve their Spanish in an engaging and personalized way. As a teacher passionate about teaching Spanish, I have developed the "Interactive Adventure in Spanish" method for online classes, aimed at both children and adults. This approach turns traditional webcam lessons into dynamic and engaging experiences.
1. Warm-up (10 minutes): We start with a brief conversation to review the previous material and establish the context of the day's lesson.
2. Interactive exploration (20 minutes): We use live webcams to observe animals in their natural habitat, describing their actions, environment and behaviors in Spanish. This real-time observation provides new content in each class, keeping students engaged and curious.
3. Practical application (20 minutes): We participate in role-playing scenarios or interactive exercises related to the topic of the day, allowing students to practice new vocabulary and structures in a meaningful context.
4. Cultural connection (10 minutes): We introduce a cultural element, such as a song, a short video or a discussion about a Spanish-speaking country, to deepen cultural understanding and appreciation.
5. Review and assignments (10 minutes): We summarize the key points of the lesson, address any questions and assign a creative task, such as preparing a short presentation or recording a video diary entry in Spanish, to reinforce learning.
