About Emily

Hello! I am Emily, a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Oxford with a PhD in Neuroscience. With over five years of experience delivering university lectures and leading rigorous small-group tutorials at a world-class institution, I bring both deep academic expertise and a proven track record of student success to my tutoring.

My teaching philosophy is built on patience, clarity, and professionalism. My academic background:
I have a master's degree in psychology from the University of York graduating top of my class with a starred first, and a PhD in neuroscience from King's College London. I studied art, archaeology, French, and psychology for A level (A*A*AA) and I achieved 11 GCSEs (2 A*, 9 A). I was the first person in my family to go to university, and I am now a professional neuroscientist working at the University of Oxford. Throughout my academic career I have loved teaching students of all stages and found it extremely rewarding. I currently teach tutorials in biomedical science and undergraduate medicine at Oxford.
