About Sam
After 4 years at the University of Nottingham, I graduated this summer with a 2:1 Master's in Mechanical Engineering. This included practical work, giving presentations and writing reports, with my final year paper being selected for publishing. I also led the design and testing for a new solar-car chassis for the university's racing team (UoNR), and in my final year designed the new cooling system for the inverters in UoNR's Formula Student car. In 2022 I began tutoring alongside my studies. I have the most experience teaching GCSE maths where I've learnt to explain questions and concepts through a shared whiteboard that makes online tutoring as engaging as face-to-face lessons.

Typically, lessons are an hour long with a small break in between. All lessons are held over Zoom using a shared whiteboard to go through questions and topics. The format for each lesson can be flexible, but the aim for all my lessons is to translate the theory of a topic to real questions so that students are aware how their knowledge should be used in an exam.
