About Allison

My guitar teaching approach is all about exploration, creativity, and personal growth. I create a space where students can dive deep into their own musical voice, whether they’re picking up the guitar later in life or pushing into new sonic territories. Lessons are tailored to your pace and interests, and we focus on building a strong connection between your ear, hands, and heart. Along with essential skills like technique, rhythm, and theory, I guide students through modern topics like looping, sound design, and creating ambient textures. We explore effects pedals, layering sounds, and using space and silence as part of your expression. I also introduce experimental guitar methods to expand your sense of what the instrument can do. Improvisation plays a big role in my sessions, and we often use jam-based exercises to develop phrasing and flow. I support students who are curious, reflective, and eager to break the mold. Whether you're returning to music after years away or stepping outside of traditional styles, I’m here to help you build confidence, stay motivated, and create music that truly feels like you.

About the lesson

I’m a guitar tutor with 9 years of experience, and I specialize in teaching beginners and young children. I hold a Bachelor of Contemporary Music with a major in Guitar, and I love making music fun, playful, and approachable for little learners. My lessons are filled with engaging games, storytelling, and rhythm-based activities that keep kids excited and curious.

I believe the early stages of music learning should be joyful and pressure-free. That’s why I focus on creating a warm, supportive environment where every child feels encouraged and celebrated. Patience is at the heart of my teaching—I meet each student at their level and move at their pace.

We’ll explore the guitar in a way that feels more like play than practice. From clapping games to fun finger exercises and sing-alongs, everything is designed to build a solid foundation in rhythm, melody, and coordination. I also help develop listening skills and musical imagination, planting the seeds for lifelong musicianship.
