About Talia

Hi! I’m Talia, a university student studying Statistics and Computer Science at University of South Africa.

Let's be honest: Pure Maths can be incredibly frustrating. It moves fast in class, and it's easy to feel completely left behind when you miss just one foundation block. I specialize in helping high school students who feel totally overwhelmed by core maths find their footing.

I don't expect you to just memorize formulas or blindly copy steps from a board. Instead, we look at why the math works, breaking down intimidating topics like algebra, functions, and calculus into logical, bite-sized pieces. Because I’m currently studying advanced math myself, I know exactly what it feels like to struggle with a concept until it finally clicks—and I bring that patience to every session.

About the lesson

My lessons are pretty straightforward: they are a judgment-free zone. If you need to spend an entire hour practicing basic fraction rules or simple factorisation before we can even touch your current school syllabus, that is exactly what we will do.

I don't believe in just giving you the answers. My goal is to build up your confidence so that when you sit down in an exam and see a tricky question you've never encountered before, you don't panic.

I focus on:

Figuring out exactly where your gaps in math foundation are and fixing them first.

Showing you the logic behind the steps so you actually understand what you're writing down.

Teaching you how to read exam questions so you know what the examiner is actually asking for.

Working through actual CAPS and IEB past paper questions together until you can do them comfortably on your own.
