About Victoria
I'm a Ph.D. candidate in the Developmental, Stem, and Regenerative Biology program at Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University majoring in Biology: Cellular, Molecular, and Biochemistry Concentration. I currently study how our nervous system regenerates after acute injury.
I've loved science ever since I took my first biology class in college. That said, biology is a difficult and complex subject. I did not have any science courses going into college and I had to teach myself how to utilize the foundations and break down complex information into simple concepts. I use the same method when I'm teaching, and throughout college, I was regarded as the best TA and tutor in the biology department. I adore teaching and making biology accessible to my students so they can love it as much as I do.

I teach in a question-based method – I learn what you know and what the limit of your knowledge on a given subject is by asking questions until you don't know the answer. From there, we'll work together to master the foundations and how to utilize them to think through more nuanced questions/prompts.
I have been a TA and mentor for 5 years at Georgetown University and, now, at the University of Pennsylvania. Teaching has always been a passion for me because I did not come from a strong educational background. I understand what it feels like to not understand something. I always adjust my teaching to the individual student and communicate information in a clear and accessible manner.
My lessons are for high schoolers, undergraduates, and grad students that are looking to navigate courses such as: Foundational Biology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, and Biochemistry.
