About Jiajin

I am a Computer Engineering Master's graduate at USC with a strong foundation in Mathematics and Computer Science. My experience ranges from serving as a University Teaching Assistant for R Programming to mentoring students in academic writing and communication. Currently, I supervise undergraduate research in reinforcement learning, which has honed my ability to explain complex technical concepts with patience and clarity. As a native Mandarin speaker fluent in English, I offer high-level tutoring in Math, Coding, and Language, ensuring students build both competence and confidence in their academic journey.

About the lesson

I have a diverse background in academic instruction and mentorship. During my undergraduate studies, I served as a Teaching Assistant for an R Programming course, where I guided students through data analysis projects and visualization techniques. I also worked as an English Program Mentor, supporting students with academic writing and intercultural communication. Currently, as a Master’s student at USC, I am supervising an undergraduate researcher, helping them navigate complex reinforcement learning concepts.
What makes me a great tutor is my ability to break down complex technical problems into understandable, logical steps. My solid foundation in Computer Engineering and Mathematics allows me to provide deep subject matter expertise, while my experience as a mentor has taught me patience and how to tailor my teaching style to different learning speeds. Additionally, being bilingual in Mandarin and English enables me to bridge language gaps effectively, particularly for students who may need extra support in a non-native language environment.
