About Dee
Hi everyone, my name is Dee and I'm excited about the prospects of meeting and collaborating with you. I have been a qualified teacher for 5 years but have over a decade of experience of teaching and 1:1 personal tutoring. I have trained as a SENCO and a Speech and Language Therapist Assistant (SALTA).

What I offer: With my background as a qualified Teacher, SENCO, and Speech and Language Therapist Assistant, I am able to bring a unique, personalised approach to your online English lessons that sets you apart. Here are several personal strategies to incorporate: 1. Tailored Learning Plans with goals to build confidence; These plans will be designed to accommodate your individual learning needs 2. Scaffolded Language Development; Using my speech and language background I will break down complex language into manageable chunks through the use of visual aids, repetition, and modelling with an emphasis on phonemic awareness and articulation for pronunciation support. 3. Inclusive & Supportive Environment🦼️🦽; I am a warm and empathetic individual who takes the time to build up trust and a warm rapport. I can guarantee a safe space for mistakes, essential for language acquisition and will adapt my teaching to accommodate any additional needs. 4. Practical, Real-Life Language Use; I often like to draw from my classroom experience to: Focus on functional language skills; integrate speaking, listening, reading, and writing with real-world scenarios; and Utilise role-play, dialogues, and storytelling for engagement. 5. Progress Tracking: I provide clear, constructive feedback tailored to your pace and will always celebrate small wins with you to build motivation and self-esteem. 6. Multisensory Learning Techniques: I like to combine visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic methods to enhance retention. I like to use props such as my puppet, short clips and other digital tools and games. I like to incorporate movement breaks and icebreaker activities suited for ice breakers and brainteasers.
