About Candy
I am personable, upbeat, and funny (I am told!). I will make lessons engaging and interesting (and tailored to YOUR interests). BUT, I will also push you and challenge you in healthy ways. I have my B.A. in English from UNC-Chapel Hill and my Master's in Teaching English from The Citadel in Charleston, SC. I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th, and 12th grade English--and college-- in some of our country's best schools. Teaching reading and writing is what I was called to do. I love it and I am good at it. I've got you!

I will take whatever assignment/task it is that you have, and break it down for you into manageable steps. I will create pre-writing strategies and organizers for you; assist you in brainstorming and gathering ideas; help you craft an argument; teach you how to effectively gather evidence; guide you through your first draft; and then help you revise, edit, and polish to perfection. Alternatively, I can create writing assignments FOR you if you are hoping to improve your skills but are not currently a student. Furthermore, I can teach reading, vocabulary, and grammar. I have been teaching middle-, high-school, and college English for 20+ years. I have so much to share!!
