About Paul

I'm passionate about empowering students to excel in the fascinating world of STEM. More than just a tutor, I'm a lifelong learner, a problem-solver, and a firm believer in the transformative power of education. With a Master's degree in Cybersecurity and a Bachelor's in Computer Science, combined with over five years of professional experience as a systems and software engineer, bring a unique blend of academic rigour and real-world application to my teaching. Why do want to teach? Because I've witnessed firsthand the "aha!" moments when complex concepts click, and the confidence that blossoms when students overcome academic challenges or fixes a bug or finally centres a div tag. I believe that everyone has the potential to succeed in STEM, and l'm dedicated to providing the guidance and support needed to unlock that potential. My goal is to create a learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, exploring new ideas, and developing a deep understanding of the subject matter.

About the lesson

My tutoring philosophy revolves around creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where you actively participate in your educational journey. I move beyond rote memorisation, focusing on building a deep, conceptual understanding. Through personalised learning plans, tailored to your unique strengths and weaknesses, I ensure you grasp the “why” behind the “how.” Conceptual Clarity: Transforming complex ideas into accessible knowledge using real-world examples and visual aids. Real World Application: relating abstract concepts to real situations, due to my 5+ years of systems and software engineering experience. Regular Feedback: Providing consistent feedback and tracking progress to maximise your learning potential. Lessons typically range from 60 to 90 minutes, allowing for in-depth exploration and practice
