About Nicky
I grew up in China, spent six years living and studying in London (UCL), and I'm now in Melbourne for my Master's. Which means I've spent most of my adult life as the person bridging two very different worlds — and somewhere along the way, I realised I genuinely love doing it.
Here's what that means for you: I don't just teach you words. I teach you why Chinese people say things the way they do. Why a phrase that sounds rude in translation is actually warm in context. Why certain topics make a Chinese person light up, and others go quiet. The stuff that makes a language feel alive.
My background is in tech and product management — I'm trained to take complicated things and make them make sense. I'll do the same with Mandarin.
