About Astha

Hi, I'm Astha, I'm a Biology teacher who genuinely loves the subject, and I enjoy helping students see how fascinating it can be.

I completed my M.Sc. in Zoology at Bangalore University, where I was awarded the gold medal, and before that an integrated B.Sc.-B.Ed. from Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women's University, Jaipur.

Over the years, I've taught Biology at M G International School in Jaipur, at Narayana, where I also served as Biology HOD, and at Army Public School Chandimandir.

What I love most about teaching is the moment a difficult concept finally clicks for a student. My goal is for every student I teach to feel confident about Biology, not afraid of it.

About the lesson

My teaching techniques and methods: I believe Biology is learned best through understanding rather than memorization. I break every topic into simple steps and use labeled diagrams, real-life examples, and interactive resources to make complex concepts relatable and easy to remember. Where possible, I add hands-on activities and practical demonstrations, drawing on my experience leading school laboratory sessions.

The usual structure of a class: Each class begins with a quick recap of the previous topic. I then introduce the new concept, explain it step by step with diagrams and examples, and encourage questions throughout. We finish with practice questions, a short quiz, and doubt-clearing. Regular tests and assignments help me track each student's progress and adjust my teaching to their needs.

My special features as a teacher: I am a Zoology gold medalist from Bangalore University with an integrated B.Sc.-B.Ed., so I combine subject depth with formal teacher training. As the former Biology HOD at Narayana, I know what board and competitive exams demand. My research in environmental science, including a prize-winning paper, helps students see how Biology connects to the real world. I give extra support to students who need it and encourage every student to think critically and ask questions.

For whom the classes are intended: My classes are for Class 9–12 school students (CBSE and State Boards) who want to strengthen their fundamentals, score well in board exams, or prepare for competitive exams such as NEET.
