About Shafia
Hello! I am a recent graduate who majored in Integrated Health Studies w/ a Concentration in Health Sciences. I have been tutoring since I was a little girl! I would help my younger brother understand and excel in his academics. I enjoyed doing it so much that I began to do it throughout different aspects of my life. I would also tutor in high school through Tutoring Club, where we would tutor elementary schoolers! Then, in undergrad joined a nonprofit, Tutoring Chicago, where I would tutor middle schoolers. I really enjoy connecting with students and helping them grow and succeed not only academically, but in all aspects!

I like to begin by asking the student what they understand and what is difficult for them to grasp. I then like to break down the topic, especially concepts they may be struggling with. As the session continues, I frequently stop and ask if we're on the same page before continuing further. Once the topic is thoroughly covered, I then like to progress with help completing assignments or assessments. I like to end each session with what their favorite part was. I enjoy working with children and helping them progress academically. It is truly rewarding seeing them come back with a good grade or that they better understand a topic.
