About Somi
I have 13+ years of experience teaching Spanish to High School and College students, and I remain passionate about helping every learner succeed. My teaching philosophy is centred on personalised learning because I know each student has different learning preferences, abilities, and ambitions. I create customised lessons that encourage steady progress while making learning enjoyable.
My lessons focus on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, writing, and conversational Spanish. I use interactive discussions, practical examples, role-playing, and communication exercises that allow students to practise the language naturally. This approach strengthens both confidence and fluency.
One of my greatest strengths is helping students overcome learning challenges through patience and positive encouragement. I provide regular progress reports, personalised recommendations, and flexible teaching methods that support continuous improvement. My students always know they have a supportive teacher who believes in their success.
I also enjoy teaching students about Spanish-speaking cultures through authentic stories, traditions, customs, and daily life. These cultural insights help learners understand the language beyond grammar and vocabulary while making lessons more interesting.

My Spanish teaching methodology combines motivation, communication, creativity, and time management to provide a complete and effective learning experience. I motivate students by understanding their goals, offering encouragement, and celebrating achievements to boost confidence.
Communication is central to my approach; I help students develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through interactive exercises, role-plays, and real-life practice. Creativity is incorporated using storytelling, games, role-plays, and visual aids to make lessons engaging, enjoyable, and memorable.
Time management ensures lessons are structured and productive, covering grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversation practice efficiently. I also guide students on organising their study and practice outside class.
