About Lucas

My name is Lucas, I’m Brazilian and currently living in Chicago. I’ve always been passionate about languages, culture, and communication — which naturally led me to teaching. I’m fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, and I know firsthand what it’s like to learn and adapt to a new language in a real-world context. I lived in Chile for over five years, where I became fluent in Spanish, and I’ve been living in the U.S. for more than three years now, using English every day. I have a degree in Law from UNASP in Brazil, which helped me develop clear communication and a deep understanding of how language works in different contexts. What motivates me as a tutor is seeing my students grow in confidence. I truly enjoy helping others communicate better, whether it’s for travel, work, study, or simply personal growth. I believe in a friendly, respectful, and flexible learning environment where you can feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. I’m also passionate about sports, games, and multicultural experiences — and I love bringing those into the classroom whenever it helps make learning more relatable and fun. If you’re looking for a tutor who’s committed, patient, and genuinely enjoys teaching, I’d be happy to support you on your language journey.

About the lesson

My lessons are practical, relaxed, and 100% focused on real-life use of the language. I believe the best way to learn is by speaking naturally, building confidence little by little, and using content that actually makes sense for your daily life. I adjust each class to your goals — whether you want to travel, work abroad, improve your pronunciation, or just speak more fluently. I mix conversation, listening, useful vocabulary, and real-life situations (and yes, even games if you're into that!). A typical lesson usually starts with a short conversation to warm up, followed by a focus topic: it could be vocabulary, grammar, or pronunciation, depending on what you need. Then we practice that topic through conversation, examples, and exercises — all personalized to your level and interests. What makes my teaching different is that I combine my own experience learning and teaching three languages (Portuguese, Spanish, and English) with a friendly and flexible style. I also bring cultural elements, especially from Brazil and Latin America, to make learning richer and more interesting. My classes are great for beginners, intermediate learners, or even advanced students who want to practice and sound more natural. If you're looking for a tutor who makes you feel at ease, adapts to your pace, and truly enjoys teaching, I’d love to help you on this journey!
