About Shuaiming
My name is Jerry. I am currently a first-year PBS student at LSE, and I did my A-levels at Oxford International College. I want to become a tutor because I genuinely enjoy helping students understand things that once felt confusing or intimidating. I have always found that learning becomes much more motivating when someone explains ideas clearly, patiently, and in a way that actually connects to the student's way of thinking. Tutoring, for me, is about building confidence as much as it is about improving academic performance. I am patient, approachable, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to help students build long-term confidence and independent learning skills.

In my lessons, I typically start by identifying the student's current level and areas of difficulty. I then explain key concepts in a clear and accessible way, followed by guided practice where we work through questions together. I have previous experience in teaching English, and now I focus on teaching IGCSE and A-level subjects. I place strong emphasis on active learning - encouraging students to explain ideas in their own words - as this greatly improves understanding and memory. I also provide exam-focused strategies, including how to structure answers, manage time, and avoid common mistakes.
