About Rebecca
I was working at a summer camp and I had this one child who would not get in the pool- she was afraid to swim. I spent most of that summer helping her overcome here fear and ultimately helping her learn to swim! It was that glow in her eyes that made me realize that I wanted to be a teacher so that I can help children achieve their goals and feel a sense of pride over their accomplishments.
I am currently a second grade teacher at a public school on the upper east side. I have a masters degree from Teacher's College, Columbia Unversity as a Literacy Specialist as well as Orton Gillingham training. I have successfully helped students meet and surpass their goals as a tutor for the last three years.

I love getting to knoew new students. I generally start by learning about their interests and passions. Additionally, I will formally and informally assess their goals and strengths in order to craft an individualized curriculum for that child.
