About Laurie
Welcome to my page! I'm Laurie, 22 years old, and I want to help you! I have a master's degree in language and literature for English and Spanish. I am currently studying Gender and Diversity in Ghent but I am not ready to let go of my languages yet. I have 3 years of experience tutoring in English for writing skills. Thanks to my master's degree in languages, I can also help you with other aspects of language skills.

The importance of repetition and making exercises is often underestimated. That is why I want to focus on this during my tutoring for English and Spanish. I am a social person who wants to create a calm and safe learning environment for students who need it to grow. That's why I'm sure people will feel comfortable during my classes. I mainly tutor students in secondary education, but I also have experience with students in higher education. It doesn't matter what level you have: every student has different needs with corresponding methods.
A typical lesson goes like this: we get to know each other briefly and discuss why you need tutoring. We look at the theories/exercises together and we try to find where things are difficult for you. We make exercises that you did in class, and I look for similar exercises so that you become more familiar with the subject. Each lesson is different depending on the aspect you want to be tutored in (grammar, vocabulary, writing, listening...), so I will definitely keep this in mind during the lessons.
