About Sabine
I decided to study mathematics halfway through my university career. Two and a half years later, I will graduate with a BS in Economics, a BA in Philosophy, and a minor in Math from Saint Louis University, Madrid this Fall 2026.
By the time I stepped into my first college-level calculus course, it had been 4.5 years since my last math class. I went from doubting myself, not being able to focus in class, and failing exams, to acing them.
The methods I built to teach myself — active recall, multiple perspectives on every concept, connecting to everything else I learned, structured problem-solving — are the same ones I use with my students. If you're struggling with college-level math courses, I've been exactly where you are, and I know the way through.
Booking sessions through the end of June.

I ask that you provide the topic, along with any past exams, homework, and in-class exercises given to you by your teacher/professor at least 24 hrs before our session.
I rely on two strategies:
1. Prompt Active Learning:
- Countless studies have proven that testing is the best way to learn mathematics
2. Multiple Perspectives to Teach Concepts:
-graphically, verbally, formulaically, and numerically
Standard Lesson Plan: ($20/1 hr)
~15 min: guided open notes quiz
~15 min: lecture/conversation, we review the topic at hand, ensure you understand its relevance, and answer any questions that came up during the quiz
~25 min: drill prepared practice problems
~5 min: review of the logical system
I have always found math to be challenging, beautiful, and fun. I didn't focus well in class, so I learned how to learn math on my own. In my experience, natural mathematical geniuses are not the best at explaining their reasoning. I learned math the hard way, so I know where students get stuck and how to get them unstuck.
