About Elizabeth

Originally from Philadelphia, I have worked in many different roles. I studied Environmental Science at Temple University and was given the opportunity to work for botanical gardens and nature centers. I briefly ran my own landscaping business in Philadelphia before heading to California. Alongside my studies and work experience in my desired field, I also ran events for high-end restaurants. This helped to hone my personal skills and improve my sales techniques.
Upon arriving in Pasadena, CA in 2014 I worked for non-profit and for-profit companies to gain better experience in California native plants. I went back to school and received a Master's in Business Administration along with several certifications in the local horticulture. I supported the launch of several new programs in LA County which have now expanded statewide and I continue to work in key areas like wildfire defense and drought-tolerant farming. During the spring of 2020, I had to transition my business to virtual while still providing food because we were considered essential workers in food service. I hope to share this knowledge with you to support your career goals and help you navigate the ever-changing job market.

About the lesson

The UN Environmental Programme has just announced we will exceed 1.5 degree celsius in a few years. When I was a high school student in 2004 I had a lot of anxiety around climate change and have dedicated my career to supporting community resilience. My teaching method is straight forward, I am open with communication and will set goals according to your personal needs. Career pathways are not as straight forward as our parents generation and can be challenging to navigate in 2026. I am bi-lingual in English and Spanish and have lived around the world. I enjoy sharing my experiences and career pathway with passionate students. Our lesson plan will be guided by the subject matter and our learning objectives. I specialize in creating safe spaces for youth and adult learners so please communicate any needs you have up front.
