Hi there! My name is Michael and I am a native English speaker, who also speaks some Spanish. I hold a Master's Degree in Teaching from Kent State University. I am currently licensed to teach adolescents from the ages of 12-18; finally, I am working on completing a CELTA certification course. I have a year of experience in teaching; and am well experienced with a range of cognitive/physical abilities--for instance, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Autism--from my work as a teaching aide. I design my language lessons to be immersive and immediately useful. From day one, students are encouraged to use the language actively—not just memorize it. When students apply new words and structures in real-time conversation or task-based activities, their retention and confidence grow much faster. One key to my method is relevance. Students are given the flexibility to explore topics that genuinely interest them—whether it’s travel, sports, fashion, politics, or music. This interest-driven approach naturally strengthens engagement and memory. While I acknowledge the role of repetition—especially when teaching complex grammar or unfamiliar patterns—I move beyond rote memorization for vocabulary. Instead, I integrate vocabulary into real conversations, dynamic scenarios, and contextual media so that the words are anchored in lived experience, not just lists. In short: My students don’t just learn English—they live it, with lessons shaped by their interests and goals, delivered in a clear, practical, and culturally rich way.
