About Sheena Mae
Hello! I’m Sheena, a Licensed Psychometrician with a background in Psychology and experience working with people from different backgrounds and communication styles.
I believe learning English should be more than memorizing grammar rules, it should help you feel confident expressing your thoughts, connecting with others, and communicating naturally. As a tutor, I create a friendly and supportive learning environment where you can practice English without worrying about making mistakes.
My Psychology background allows me to understand that every student learns differently. I am patient, attentive, and willing to adjust my teaching approach according to your level, goals, and learning pace.
Whether you want to improve your everyday conversation, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, workplace communication, or simply become more confident speaking English, I’m here to help you reach your goals one step at a time.
Let’s make learning English practical, comfortable, and enjoyable!

English
My approach to teaching English is student-centered, practical, and encouraging. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and expressing themselves without fear of being judged. Rather than focusing only on memorizing grammar rules, I help students understand how English is naturally used in real conversations and everyday situations.
Teaching Method and Techniques
I use a combination of conversational practice, guided discussions, vocabulary building, pronunciation exercises, grammar correction, and practical activities. I adjust my teaching style depending on the student's English level, learning goals, personality, and pace.
I encourage students to speak as much as possible during lessons while providing gentle corrections and clear explanations. I also use examples from real-life situations such as work, school, travel, social conversations, interviews, and daily communication to make lessons meaningful and useful.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up conversation to help the student feel comfortable and assess their current speaking ability. We then introduce the main topic or skill for the lesson, followed by vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, or expressions relevant to that topic.
Most of the lesson is focused on guided speaking practice, role-playing, questions, and interactive activities. I provide corrections and feedback throughout the lesson while allowing the student enough time to express their ideas independently. We end with a brief review of what was learned and identify areas to practice before the next session.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is my background in Psychology, which helps me understand that every learner has different needs, confidence levels, and learning styles. As a Licensed Psychometrician, I bring patience, active listening, empathy, and a supportive approach into my lessons.
I aim to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable speaking English even when they are still developing their skills. My goal is not simply to teach correct English, but to help students become more confident and effective communicators.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are suitable for beginner to intermediate English learners, including children, teenagers, college students, working professionals, and adults who want to improve their communication skills.
I can provide lessons focused on conversational English, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading comprehension, writing, workplace communication, interview preparation, and improving overall speaking confidence. Lessons can also be personalized for students who have specific academic, professional, or everyday communication goals.
