About Alys
I’m Alys, a Senior Designer at Liberty London specialising in print for Interiors (printed upholstery fabrics and wallpapers) as well as designing all home product for the Liberty store.
I bring 5+ years’ experience as a designer creating work for commercial, luxury outcomes. I have an Art Foundation (distinction) from Oxford Brookes University and a BA (Hons) in Textile Design from Edinburgh College of Art (1st Class). My graduate collection won awards and went on to get me my first job.
I have since returned to ECA to provide post-grad lectures and crits for final year students. I’ve also provided a print workshop via Liberty for the William Morris Gallery Young People’s programme.
- I offer technical guidance in drawing and painting to build conviction in bringing your ideas to fruition across both Art and Design fields.
- I guide you through simple and effective ways to translate your skills for a professional career in design and prepare you for interviews at degree and professional level.
- I help build your portfolio all stages of education and career to help you achieve your goals no matter how ambitious!

In addition to teaching you to draw and paint to a professional standard, I can also equip you with industry knowledge as a practising designer for a heritage British brand.
Building your confidence in creating beautiful things is essential to creating a body of work you're proud of, and we would certainly do this together, but this is only half the battle when it comes to refining your work for a job in the industry.
I'd love to help you think about your work from a different perspective, giving you the knowledge and understanding of the opportunities available to you and how to get them.
