About Imaan

My name is Imaan - I am 18 years old and originally from Manchester. I have recently finished my A Levels, in which I studied Psychology, Chemistry and Business. I plan on studying Psychology at university, with the aim of pursuing a career in Clinical Psychology in the future. Despite this, I have developed a deep interest in Chemistry over the course of my A Levels, therefore I hope to share my interest with you all by teaching this subject and showing my students that it can be understood easily, and it really doesn’t have to be too difficult! I also provide GCSE Maths & Science lessons, as I truly believe everyone should have access to education that is easy to understand and not too overwhelming. This is why I aim to deliver lessons in a way that is personalised to each and every one of my students.

About the lesson

I offer flexible methods of delivering lessons, usually via Zoom or in person - whatever suits you! My lessons are usually one hour sessions each, with my main focus being active recall and consistent practice of the topic being taught eg teaching the topic via a PowerPoint presentation, examples and videos, which is then followed by consolidating this knowledge with practice exam questions and quizzes! This is a fun yet beneficial way of learning, and has proven to be a successful method of mine to help my students achieve the grades they want. One of my previous students was stuck on a grade 2 for the majority of her GCSE course, however after having lessons with me she achieved a grade 5 in her final exams. Her mother was extremely grateful and recommended me to her friend for me to tutor her daughter as a result. I also find it extremely important to build a mutual level of trust, understanding and respect with all of my students. By doing this I am able to learn more about how they wish to be taught, enabling me to deliver lessons to them in a way in which they feel comfortable with.
