Welcome to my tutoring sessions! Here’s a bit about what you can expect from our time together:
Qualifications and Experience:
Having recently completed my GCSE studies, I am keenly aware of the confusion and challenges they present, and can more easily identify and address common difficulties because I’ve navigated them myself and understand what it’s like to study these subjects for the first time. Most recently I just completed the A Level Mathematics course in 1 year, scoring 276/300 in mock examination, so navigating the complexities of A Level mathematics is a further strong point.
My GCSE grades are as follows: Biology (9), Chemistry (9), English language (9), French (9), History (9), Mathematics (9), Fine Art (9), Physics (9), English Literature (8), Religious studies (8), Further Mathematics (8)
Approach and Methodology:
My approach to tutoring math and science is both interactive and adaptive. I focus on building a solid foundation by addressing fundamental concepts and then progressing to more complex topics. My teaching methodology revolves around three core principles:
Conceptual Understanding: I strive to ensure that you truly understand the ‘why’ behind mathematical formulas and scientific principles, not just the ‘how’. This helps in retaining information and applying it effectively in various contexts.
Active Engagement: I use a range of teaching techniques, including problem-solving exercises, real-life applications, and interactive discussions. This active approach helps keep lessons engaging and helps reinforce learning through practice.
Personalized Learning: Every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to meet your unique needs and learning style. Whether you need to build confidence in specific areas or want to accelerate your progress, I adjust my teaching to match your goals.
Lesson Duration:
Typically, my lessons last 60 minutes. This length allows for a thorough exploration of topics while maintaining focus and engagement. However, this can adjust the duration based on your needs and preferences.
