About Shyan

I am an A-Level student of Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry looking to share my knowledge of key Mathematical principles plus my understanding of physics, providing different outlooks on the topics that cause most bother with aims to provide a firm foundation for any student to build upon and later grow to succeed with.

The issue I find with traditional tutoring (having been tutored before) lies in the fact that they have taught as masters of their subject for long amounts of time, great 'on paper' experience without a doubt, but it is common to see them forget to how it feels to be in a position of not understanding something, or to be in unknown waters.

I hope to use my youth as an asset, with the wholehearted belief that relating and working up with the student is more beneficial to students rather than regurgitating information down to students.

One of the many beauties in maths and physics is that the application of fundamental topics is endless. Having said this, I believe tailored approaches for each individual student are very much possible, allowing them to obtain stronger grips on the areas they may struggle in.

About the lesson

My outlook:
I do not believe the methods of teaching should be concrete. Having recently and still being in class environments, I witness first hand the dire necessity for flexible approaches to teaching.

My idea is to create a fresh learning environment, not one that feels like a classroom as some students may have negative points associated with them. I aim to provide an environment where mistakes are not frowned upon but encouraged, exposing chips and cracks in knowledge, only to use this as a platform to build on understanding.

Structure:
It is important for me as the tutor and you as the student to become creative. Once being given an insight into where work needs to be done, I will plan sessions that will attack topics that create bother or plan lessons to strengthen and supplement key areas to guarantee better results.

-Expose areas of uncertainty
-Work on a new angle of approach
-Work together to understand
-Rebuild self-confidence in your ability by completing tasks independently
-Cement new understanding by applying knowledge to abstract or complex tasks.
