About Alan

My name is Alan, and I am a passionate chemist who would love to show you how to improve your GCSE Chemistry grade! My experiences with Chemistry stemmed from a young age, beginning with me representing my school at the Birmingham Salter's Festival of Chemistry and winning first prize over many other schools, to getting the grade 9 in Chemistry that I've wanted, to now studying even more complex Chemistry at A-Level. That's not the only ace in my deck however, I am also very proficient in Biology, Mathematics and English Language, netting A-stars in all 4 subjects at GCSE (along with most of my grades), and studying Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths at A-level! Punctuality is my code of conduct, so expect excellent work on time all the time. Hope to see you soon!

About the lesson

Typical lesson will be half an hour to 45 minutes depending on topic. We will work through a topic together through interactive lessons, where I will give you examples that I run through and then questions we go through together after you've had a go. These lessons are aimed at GCSE students, 14-16 years old. I have been tutoring for 2 years in school with excellent results, at least being able to boost a grade by one with diligent work. I am also able to teach A-level Biology and Chemistry at a higher rate. However, my strength is in teaching GCSE students as of this instant.

Alan has always been consistent with his lessons, providing specific and tailored examples to explain a concept along with questions that challenged me just like the exam would. With his recent experience in GCSEs, he gave me confidence that the work was relevant to the GCSEs I would sit later on in the year, and I have now done very well in my GCSEs and am continuing my education at A level. I had immensely appreciated his quick replies to additional questions outside of the lesson, and he was flexible about his changes (if given enough time!). I have thoroughly enjoyed his lessons and hope you do as well.
