About Joshua
I have always been confident with maths as an academic subject throughout secondary and college. During my GCSE period, I tutored younger students in the lower years in order to give them a sense of reassurance for the years to come. Following my GCSE exams, I passed maths with a grade 9.
I now attend university as a film student however, you would be surprised how often I find myself using complex mathematics within my work so everything is still fresh in my mind.

Like most teachers, I believe the best method to tutoring is targeting the specific area in which the student is weakest, and teaching them new methods to getting around why they might struggle in that area and going from there.
Each student is wired different and has their own way of thinking. Throughout my education I was seen by my teachers as someone who used very unconventional methods to reach my answers within maths. In my opinion, my own approach to maths allows me to help other students realise there's an unlimited amount of ways to get to a solution to answer a problem; this can help validate their own unique thought processes. If you give a student the confidence in their own thinking, they're much more likely to succeed academically.
