About Mia

Hi! I'm Mia, I’m 18, and I’m a first year student at the University of Warwick, studying an integrated masters in Biomedical Systems Engineering (a.k.a. lots of maths and physics and chemistry). At A-level I achieved A*A*AB in physics, maths, chemistry and further maths respectively, and at GCSE i achieved ten grade 9s and one grade 8.

I can tutor in maths, physics, chemistry (or just general science) at any level up to and including A-level. I have experience with regularly tutoring a pupil for the maths section of the11 plus (she passed!), and a KS3 student in maths.

In term time I live on campus in Coventry, but can offer remote tutoring whenever during this time. During the holidays (1 month at Christmas, 1 month at Easter, and 2 months for summer) I live in Loose, and am willing to travel to the student’s house if they are comfortable with it.

I am really passionate about maths and the sciences, and would love to help you boost your grades in them!

About the lesson

Learning is different for everyone, so I think it is important that tutoring is tailored to the tutee's needs. From my experience with revision, I have learnt that a combination of fact learning, active recall, and integration of exam technique is a great system, so would love to help you figure out your best way of learning. I have access to plenty of resources that I used myself during my GCSEs, so know from experience that they definitely help; these include multiple textbooks, revision guides, worksheets and summary notes, but of course my priority is to play an active part in your learning, and will never just give you a worksheet to complete.
