About Zara

I've tutored for around 4 years now, and I love it! I organised a peer mentoring programme in Sixth Form, so I first started tutoring GCSE while I acquired my A Levels. Throughout my Bachelor's degree, I tutored A Level and GCSE to students with a huge range of learning capability. I love all things science, and find it rewarding to be able to support a student to unlock their own potential by teaching according to their own strengths. I don't believe in a 'one size fits all' approach to teaching and learning, and aim to help students find out what their learning style is to maximise results and time.

About the lesson

Hello! I have tutored for 4 years, particularly specialising in A Level and GCSE Biology. I like to tailor my tutoring to the student, with a focus on my student's strengths and individual learning style. Typically, I follow a personalised lesson plan, tailored to exam specification, and work from textbooks and exam papers. I think integrating both a strong understanding of the scientific concept and a knowledge of how to gain marks in an exam according to mark schemes is essential at A Level and GCSE. I recently graduated so I understand a lot about the university application process, and the stress around exam time, looking to support students so they feel confident to navigate these challenges themselves. My lessons are typically 60 minutes, and I recommend 2 lessons per week but this usually depends on the student.
