About Marlon
Hi, I’m Marlon, a Computer Science student at the University of Warwick with a strong academic background, including 11 Grade 9s at GCSE and A*A*A*A at A Level. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, improve their problem-solving skills, and approach exams with a clear strategy.
My teaching style is calm, structured and patient. I focus on making difficult topics feel simple by breaking questions down step by step, explaining the reasoning clearly, and helping students understand patterns rather than just memorise answers. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and improving steadily.
I take professionalism seriously and always prepare lessons carefully so that each student gets focused, useful support tailored to their goals.

My lessons are highly interactive and focused on genuine understanding, not just memorising formulae or learning methods without knowing why they work. I want students to understand where ideas come from, including the intuition, reasoning and proofs behind key concepts, so they can build a solid foundation rather than relying on short-term memory.
A typical lesson will begin with a recap of previous content to check understanding and strengthen anything that needs more work. We will then move into the main topic through discussion, explanation and guided examples. I like to question and stretch students throughout the lesson, encouraging them to think deeply, explain their reasoning and approach problems from different angles.
Towards the end of each lesson, we will work through plenty of practice questions, including exam-style problems, so the student can apply what they have learned and become confident tackling unfamiliar questions. My aim is to equip students with the skills and understanding needed to tackle all types of questions, not just the ones they have seen before.
I am passionate about pushing students towards excellence, helping them achieve top grades, and supporting them in reaching their personal academic goals. Lessons are typically one hour long and are suitable for students studying Maths, Further Maths or Computer Science at GCSE, A-Level or younger levels.
I achieved A*A*A*A at A-Level, all 9s at GCSE, and I now study Computer Science at the University of Warwick.
