About Christine

Hi! I’m someone who truly believes that learning should be as engaging as it is rewarding. Teaching has always come naturally to me—whether I was halfway across the world teaching ESL to kids in China, leading a classroom as an Assistant Director at a private preschool for five years, or my current role as a substitute teacher. I’ve spent years learning how to connect with students of all ages and help them find their "aha!" moment.

I’m a bit of a trivia nut and a lifelong learner at heart. I have a deep love for History, Math, and Reading, and I’m usually busy practicing ASL or diving into my Greek studies. Because I’m constantly learning new languages and subjects myself, I understand exactly what it feels like to tackle a tough topic. I bring that patience and curiosity to every tutoring session, making sure we don't just check off a homework box, but actually understand the logic behind the lesson.

By trade, I’m a legal professional, which means I’m big on organization, clear communication, and sharp analytical skills. But at the end of the day, I’m a teacher at heart. My goal is to help you (or your child) build the confidence and study habits needed to excel in any subject—and maybe share a few fun facts along the way!

About the lesson

I’m not a fan of the "one size fits all" approach. Every student has a unique way of processing information, so my first priority is building a real relationship with you. I want to figure out what motivates you, what makes you laugh, and how your brain naturally patterns information. When we click, the learning happens a lot faster!

My lessons are built on three main pillars:

The Power of Mistakes: I tell my students all the time: mistakes aren't failures—they’re data! I create a safe space where you can get it wrong, because that’s where the best learning happens.

Solution-Finding: Instead of just giving you the answer, I’ll help you develop the diligence to find it yourself. We’ll work on the "detective skills" needed to tackle any problem, whether it’s a math equation or a tricky ESL sentence.

Confidence First: Academic stress usually comes from a lack of confidence. My goal is to send you back into the classroom feeling capable and empowered.

I bring a mix of professional logic and a teacher’s patience to every session. We’ll work hard, we’ll be diligent, and we’ll definitely celebrate the wins along the way!
