About Jess
I am a Lecoq-trained performer, director and theatre-maker. I run three theatre companies; Cut Mustard Theatre, Clownfish and Propolis Theatre. I work with physical theatre, mime, clowning, devising and character acting, as well as having a strong background in writing, directing and performing verbatim theatre. I also run Meisner acting and improvisation workshops. I am an experienced teacher and workshop leader, for students aged 3-80 and regularly run workshops in schools, youth theatres and theatre groups.

My teaching method is through fun and experimentation. I begin with a thorough physical warm-up and teach physical techniques such as mime. Using these initial techniques I lead students through exercises and improvisations towards a final devised performance. I find this technique gives a thorough understanding of the topic and builds confidence and skill in a short time.
