About Lucy

Hi there! My name is Lucy and I am offering Leaving Cert level French grinds. With a passion for the language, I achieved a H1 in my Leaving Cert, with a grade of almost 100% in my oral. I also spent some time in France further developing my knowledge of both French culture and language.

Something I found particularly useful was the ability to maximise study time by learning elements of French that I could transfer from my written pieces to my oral, a skill I can help you master.

I understand that everyone learns in different ways so I will adapt lessons depending on what works for you and will focus on areas you want to improve in!

About the lesson

Lessons: 1 hour via Zoom
Who for: Leaving Cert students studying at higher level

Written French
- Teach you phrases that will elevate your overall written pieces
- Polish your grammar and improve your vocabulary to maximise marks

Oral
- Improve your conversational French
- Teach you how to think on your toes and answer any question the examiner throws at you
- Teach you the ability to show the examiner that you are confident in your French

Reading Comprehension
- Help improve your vocabulary so you can understand exactly what the question is asking you

Aural
- Give you tips on how to understand different paces of speaking

Lucy has been an incredible French tutor for me. I worked with Lucy since I was in 5th year, and from the start her passion for teaching stood out. She adapted lessons really well fit my needs - grammar and oral work were always things I struggled with, and she really pushed me to work and improve them.

Lucy is also always super patient and encouraging. Her lessons have a really relaxed environment where it’s okay to make mistakes (which I did often in the beginning), which helped me build confidence in speaking.
