About Bruce
I understand that learning can be challenging. I listen carefully and try different strategies when questions arise. My students tell me that I help them understand the material and do so in a way that is not dry or "academic". I make learning fun and impactful.
I earned my teaching credential in California and taught Junior High School and High School. Having two sons, I also have the experience of helping them through all of their schooling.

I know that each student has a different learning style. In one-on-one sessions, I tailor the learning to the student's needs. I offer lessons that incorporate methods such as using real-world examples, visual aids, video or music, and other strategies targeted to learning style differences.
As a former US High School teacher, I have a deep background in helping students succeed. I have very strong academic skills including a Bachelor of Sciences in Biology and a minor in English, Philosophy, and Chemistry.
I have 5 years of experience tutoring a very wide array of subjects from SAT and other standardized testing to Math, Science, English, History, and more
I am available to teach grade level from grade 6 - 12 and college/university level
