  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Vedic Maths are ancient math systems which have come from Vedas - oldest sacred texts in India. It includes a unique set of techniques and principles that simplify arithmetic operations and problem-solving, making calculations quicker and easier to understand.
During my school days when I faced challenges of learning conventional methods of calculating something, I was introduced to Vedic Maths. It really interested me how simple ancient techniques could help to solve complex problems and enable me work faster and accurately. This made me eager to know more about it. After a while, it dawned on me that Vedic Maths had great power not only in terms of personal academic enhancement, but also as a way to assist others in dealing with issues related to mathematics.
So later, after years I enrolled myself for the course and learnt Vedic Maths and thought of teaching others and to create awareness on this interesting methodology.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach and why?

The primary motivation behind my decision to pursue teaching stems from a profound experience during a social internship, where I had the privilege to teach underprivileged children. Witnessing the transformative power of education firsthand, I realized the significant impact that a dedicated teacher can have on a student's life.
This social practice was an eye opener for me on how knowledge can be used as a tool to promote growth amongst these kids who could never have access to other options. The teaching kids had shown great gratitude and desire to learn motivated me a lot during this period. This was an experience that brought satisfaction and happiness into my life leading me closer towards becoming a teacher.
  • How does your work help society?

My job contributes a lot to the society as a Vedic Maths teacher in many significant aspects. -

Refined Math Skills: Difficult calculations have been simplified by Vedic Maths techniques thereby enhancing one's mathematical understanding. In so doing, I have helped students develop great analytical and problem-solving abilities that are necessary in different sectors.
Increasing Self-Esteem and Performing Well Academically: A large number of students find it hard to do math which results into low self-esteem as well as other problems related to schooling. Vedic Mathematics provides another way that is often more intuitive than traditional mathematically inclined methods. In doing this, I make math simpler thus enabling my students get confidence leading them to perform academically well.

Encouraging Sharpness of Mind: The mental sums in Vedic Mathematics boost memory,
focus and reasoning among other cognitive faculties. They are useful beyond class work and can help individuals excel in their day-to-day activities or even career paths.

Fostering a Congenial Learning Environment: By implementing unorthodox and stimulating ways of instructing mathematics, I hope to preserve awe for studying all through life. In this way, I believe that students' inclined attitude towards academics may motivate them towards advanced training in science and technology. Propagating Vedic Maths in Poor Areas: The distribution of advantages coming from Vedic Maths is another area where I am keen about reaching the less fortunate. Aiming at lessening educational discrepancy by giving information for free or very cheap, my ultimate goal is to create levelled playing fields for every youthful person all over irrespective of his or her financial status.

In this endeavor, I'm a part of a collective effort to mold a knowledgeable, skilled and self-assured populace which can take on what is ahead.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think and why?

My role model in my work is my own experience teacher which I had during my social internship.

During my internship, I witnessed the remarkable transformation in children who had previously struggled with mathematics. Seeing their newfound confidence and enthusiasm for learning was incredibly motivating. This experience solidified my passion for teaching and showed me the immense value of using my love for mathematics to contribute positively to society.
It was my own personal journey with math and children that propelled me to excel more in this occupation. The transformation I noticed in the kids made me consider moving further into this line of work. Prior to this, I did teach my younger siblings and where I began; it gave me training until I became good at it and developed assurance that has brought me to where I am today alongside helping shape the character that I have now.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

There are various activities I do aside from teaching that create balance in my life. A favorite among them is reading novels because they help me relax while allowing more insight on the world around me and also boosting my creativity levels. Another one would be dancing; it allows me to express myself freely.
Besides swimming tends to be an enormous thrill for me whenever I am at city beaches or private resorts far away from home swimming implies both cooling down and making you keep your body fit.
In addition to that there is something about traveling which fascinates me so much. During the holidays most of the time I take trips to the city or towns just outside my usual place of residence. Activities like hiking or embarking on thrilling journeys are so heart warming; they arouse excitement and a sense of purpose in my life.
My well-being benefits so much from these hobbies and they fill me with joy and satisfaction that I take along into my teaching to create a more lively and engaging learning atmosphere for the learners.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

Absolutely, I'd be happy to share an anecdote from my personal journey. During my school years, I was quite an underconfident child. This lack of confidence caused me to miss out on numerous opportunities that came my way. I often felt overshadowed and hesitant to step forward, which held me back from reaching my full potential.

Everything changed when I entered college. There, I encountered a remarkable faculty member who took a personal interest in my development. This mentor recognized my potential and dedicated time to guide and support me. Through their mentorship, I gradually gained confidence and began to believe in myself. They motivated me to take on new challenges and encouraged me to seize opportunities that I previously would have shied away from.

This enlightening experience really moved me. It made me understand how much impact a dedicated mentor can have on a student's life. It ignited my desire to be a personal mentor for kids, steering them in the right direction and building their confidence. I wanted no child to go through what I did and instead wanted them to have assistance and encouragement to realize their dreams. Thus, this excursion not only formed my career goals but also reinforced my passion for education and mentorship, which brought me here.
