About Matthew
I’m a London-based professional musician, songwriter and live performer working across solo, band-led and hybrid electronic settings. My career has been shaped inside real rooms — from intimate listening spaces to high-energy venues — where audience awareness, adaptability and musical sensitivity matter just as much as technical ability.
I grew up around professional musicians and went on to study music closely before stepping fully into the industry, so I understand both the creative and practical realities of building a musical life. That perspective naturally informs how I teach: not as a distant tutor, but as someone actively living the work.
Students often come to me wanting more than surface-level progress — they want to understand music, feel at ease in their voice, and develop instincts they can rely on. I care deeply about helping people reconnect with play, because play is where confidence, expression and real musicianship begin to emerge.

My lessons are designed to help you become musically self-sufficient — not dependent on instruction, but capable of understanding what you hear, trusting your instincts, and contributing with confidence.
As a working live performer, I teach from inside real musical environments rather than purely academic frameworks. We focus on harmony, vocal integration, timing, feel, and musical awareness so that your voice sits naturally within the music rather than on top of it.
I understand both the creative and practical sides of the journey — and play is at the heart of it. Growth happens fastest when curiosity is present, so sessions are focused, supportive, and engaging without losing musical seriousness.
Lessons typically run 60 minutes and are suited to beginners through developing singers who want more than surface-level progress. Whether your goal is to sing with greater freedom, understand how music actually works, or reconnect with why you started, the work is grounded, purposeful, and built to move you forward with clarity.
