About Ismat

Dr. Ismat Parveen is a renowned Urdu scholar, author, and educator with over 18 years of teaching and research experience in the Urdu language. Her work focuses on Urdu language, literary traditions, poetry, manuscripts, and oral history, with a strong foundation in classical as well as modern forms.

She has a PhD in Urdu from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, and is presently associated with the American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS).

About the lesson

Our classes are designed to help students read, write, and speak Urdu with confidence, while developing a genuine appreciation for its literary and cultural heritage.

Perfect! I am highly recommending Ismat ma'am for anyone starting learning the Urdu language from the scratch. Learning a new script can be difficult at first, but they make the alphabet very easy to understand. They break down each letter's shape and wait with immense patience until the students learn. I never feel rushed, and they always pause to correct my pronunciation and writing misses gently. Their structured lessons have given me the confidence to start reading simple words already. This class is perfect for the students who need personal attention and offer a very supportive environment.
