About Jema

I have danced for 25 years and taught since 2020.
I currently teach private lessons and wedding choreography.
I continue my own development weekly by getting private lessons of my own.
I have danced competitively for 3 years.
I teach both lead and follow.

I teach because I know how much fun there is to have. I believe that if you want to dance, there is a way to get you there, no matter you ability or learning style.

I love getting people across the line to reach goals they have set for themselves.

It’s fun to dance and fun to learn.

About the lesson

I'll work with you to identify goals you have for yourself and we'll work together to reach them.

I really like getting to know your learning style and I get super excited about how best to apply this to your lessons. Everybody speaks a different language and once we crack the code, learning happens quickly.

-I'm flexible, but lessons are typically 1 hr.
-Lessons are on Saturday afternoons or Sundays.
-I teach all ages from kids to grandparents.
-I teach mostly on Brisbane's northside and have studio space in Samford and Strathpine.
-I honestly tailor the lesson to you.
-I am comfortable starting you from scratch, adding to your dance repertoire, improving on your lead and follow technique or creating a choreography/routine for you.
-I teach individuals and couples of all ages and abilities.

Perfect! Jemma is very capable and organised. I learned a lot of the basics and this week I was asked to dance o lot. I was very pleased as I don’t have a regular partner and my goal was to be good enough to be asked to dance and learn and enjoy.

My partner and I have been attending Jema's dance classes for several years - first Rock 'n Roll and then Swing Jive. Jema is passionate about dancing and this really shows in her teaching style. Jema's class is one of the highlights of our week. Not only does she make dancing fun, she is knowledgeable, gives lots of encouragement and clear instructions ensuring that everyone in the class manages to master the steps. Jema understands how to develop dancers and we have progressed through the beginner's class to intermediate.
