About Amy

My passion for teaching stems both from the inspiration I received from my own Spanish teachers, and from witnessing firsthand the positive impact my teaching has had on others. In Colombia, I taught English at a refugee camp in the border town of Pamplona with an NGO, supporting displaced communities. Separately, I also delivered 1:1 lessons with local business owners across the country, helping them improve their English for customer service and tourism. These experiences not only developed my ability to teach in diverse contexts, but also taught me how to make lessons practical, engaging, and tailored to real-life needs - skills I now bring to every student I work with.

Or perhaps you need an experienced tutor for GCSE or A-Level Spanish - someone who has recently completed the same courses and achieved top grades?   Look no further!    I’m Amy, a final-year International Development student at King’s College London with a passion for languages, culture, and education. I studied Spanish at GCSE and A-Level, focusing primarily on European Spanish culture and pronunciation, and later deepened this foundation by spending two years working with environmental and social NGOs across Central and South America. These experiences not only led me to fluency, but also gave me a rich understanding of regional dialects, cultural contexts, and real-world language use — allowing me to teach Spanish in a way that is both academically rigorous and culturally authentic. With this background, I can provide holistic and tailored lessons that address not only grammar and vocabulary, but also the cultural and linguistic nuances that shape real-world communication.   In addition, I offer specific training for the DELE exams (A1–B2), having successfully completed the B2 level myself. These exams demand more than conversational ability: they test precise vocabulary, grammar structures, and use of synonyms at each level. With my experience, I can guide students through the process with clear structure, targeted practice, and strategies for success. Whether you’re aiming for academic success or conversational confidence, I make lessons interactive, supportive, and rooted in practical understanding.
