About Juan
I was born in Ecuador and later raised in Australia to a Spanish-speaking family who indulge in the beautiful Latino culture. The amazing advantage of speaking Spanish is that it is the 2nd most spoken language in the world with 21 countries using Spanish as their primary language! One of my favorite things about being fluent in Spanish is being opened to a second world of incredible genres of music ranging from Salsa to Reggaeton to Bachata and many, many more and being able to understand the deeply poetic meanings behind the songs (dancing too). I am a full-time Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineer who has a passion for teaching all of my skills to people who share a curiosity and passion to learn more about the abundance of ideas around the world. Through this, we can understand how to apply this knowledge to improve our quality of life.

I structure my students' progression by: 1. Nailing the foundations of the Spanish language first, for example, pronunciation basics. 2. Covering ways to introduce ourselves. 3. Looking into different conversation starters. 4. Learning the numbers. 5. Introducing masculine and feminine nouns. 6. etc... I will run quizzes and pronunciation activities which will develop into more flowing conversations as time progresses. A lesson will typically run for an hour. I have taught multiple students ranging mainly from basic to intermediate level Spanish from all ages and just like many things, practice is vital!
