Perfect! Joshua is an excellent tutor and a really nice guy, he really knows his stuff and has a great background across lots of areas of programming and game development using c++. He writes quality code using the proper conventions in a consistent manner and will make sure you do not pick up any bad coding habits; he's also got patience in trumps and follows a teaching style that focuses on building your confidence and competency while making steps that lead to a visible outcome (although if you have any struggles with the theory behind any part, he's got that covered too).
If ever the programme itself has any issues or quirks he can not only help you in rectifying them but also quite often explain to you why the engine/compiler might be doing such a thing and help you with how to prevent that in future. He is always punctual and is extremely reasonable with things like scheduling and prioritises finding times that work for you.

Generally speaking he's a delight to spend time around and even though I get quite an anxiety before all things like this, those feelings dissipate within moments of getting on the call and getting started in Unreal with Joshua. The lessons are paced very nicely; it always feels like we get a lot done but it's never too fast that I feel overwhelmed or pressured. His profile mentions that he wants to see the next generation of programmers given a chance to learn so that we can develop the talent to be a part of the games industry in a way that many of us dream of and his personality always shines through really strong to this end. There is no facade like with lots of other people; he is most certainly motivated to help you succeed as his student and that is always front and centre, not like with many many other people who are quite clearly predominantly in this to fill their ego or wallet. Most importantly within just a handful of hours of lessons, he has built a really strong personal connection and rapport with me - that's something that only the best tutors with a pure intent can achieve and I have no doubts that Joshua is the right tutor for anybody else out there like me who has a clear, albeit grand, ambition (or for that matter somebody who just has a small c++ issue/gamedev they need a hand with).

As a total novice to c++ who has spent the last year or two watching countless online tutorials to little avail, I can quite assuredly say that Joshua has been exactly who I've needed to rekindle my excitement for learning the engine and help with a significant portion of my learning. I would give an extra 0.5 rating for the cameos of the adorable meowing marauders if I could, too, but I'm already at the maximum.

Perfect! Joshua has been a huge help towards both my understanding of the Unreal Engine as well as my progress in a project I had. As a beginner, I was not confident in my ability to program new elements into my video game, let alone see my game through to completion, but Joshua was able to help me make significant progress, whilst still managing to make each aspect of the learning process digestible and cohesive. I would definitely recommend Joshua's lessons to anyone looking for a wealth of technical expertise to help with either refining a game or understanding an engine better.
