About Jude

My background includes software development, data analysis, process improvement and working with complex financial datasets.

I understand that joins, nested queries and window functions can initially feel abstract. I therefore teach SQL visually, showing what happens to the data at each stage of a query.

My approach is calm, structured and practical. You will not simply copy completed queries. You will learn how to plan them, build them in stages, test the output and identify mistakes.

These lessons are suitable for complete beginners, university students, aspiring analysts and professionals who need SQL for their current role.

About the lesson

These lessons will help you learn SQL as a practical analytical skill rather than a list of commands to memorise.

We can begin with the fundamentals or work on more advanced analytical SQL, depending on your experience.

Topics can include:

Understanding tables, rows and columns
SELECT, FROM and WHERE
Sorting and limiting results
CASE statements
Aggregate functions
GROUP BY and HAVING
INNER, LEFT, RIGHT and FULL joins

Connecting SQL with Python or Power BI
I use diagrams to explain how queries transform data and how joins connect tables. You will practise writing queries yourself and learn a repeatable process for debugging them when the output is not what you expected.

Lessons can follow a structured curriculum or focus on a particular database, project, interview or workplace requirement.

My aim is to help you confidently translate a business question into a logical SQL query and check that the answer is accurate.
